i don't think so. for one thing, rate differentials are beginning to tighten. for another, the economic cycles are not in sync, they're only temporarily so. if you have the choice of betting on an economy with 4% unemployment and one with 10% unemployment, which one would you choose?

you should take the counter-intuitive bet, i.e. bet on the recovery potential.
