I just read a bloomberg article that said, Mr. Murphy is short MSFT. He could be betting that MSFT will numbers and stock will go down.

Earnings reminder: The 40 cent per share earnings in the 2nd quarter of 1999 included 4 cents a share that was originally to be included in the first quarter of 1999, so the analyst
estimate of 41 cents for 2nd quarter 2000 would actually
be 5 cents higher than last year, or about 14%, not 1 cent as records indicate. I'm not
sure about the revenue number, but maybe someone else who
remembers this from last year could confirm or elaborate
on this.
