We are obliged to pay the government to participate in the economy. That much is still coercive, and we could still get in trouble if we colluded with a retailer to provide us with excise- free merchandise. On the other hand, if we do not participate, or do so sparingly, there is no way of ensuring even a modicum of fairness, because we are not paying an amount comparable to others. Thus, we are not pulling our weight in maintaining the government.......
