Darlene,

I think AOL knew that long range Total media is the future.

AOL has yet to produce anything new. They've begun traveling down the path of introducing new releases of the same old product that intentionally break competing services. That type of strategy is no strategy at all and it is desperate. The TWX merger was a great announcement but we'll see if they can deliver anything valuable out of it. I would argue that both businesses will suffer at least a short to midterm drag due to merger related lack of focus. At best they will simply add the bottom line of both businesses together.

Remember they spent $181 billion for a 20% cable footprint and media.

How many railroad companies produce the goods they transport? What is the synergy between wagon scheduling and coal geology?
