If the state exists, it must be maintained, and that is a duty of citizenship. No individual exists in perfect isolation, and if he did, he would be a wild child, without speech or developed reason. The state maintains the conditions in which a society can raise its children, and the individual in turn owes something to the state that allowed him to develop to maturity.........
