this is a possible outcome - but as you say, you own a claim on reserves in the ground. what's more, it is by no means certain that a fiat collapse resolves in hyperinflation - it could just as well be a deflationary collapse, in which case miners input costs would fall. HM was the best performing stock on the NYSE from 1929 - 1935.
