it is assumed that China may yet yield some significant discoveries. however, it has been a net importer for quite some time now, and its imports are growing by leaps and bounds. imo it is conceivable that one day there will be a war over the Mid East oil resources, unless a truly viable alternative to oil becomes available (not likely in the foreseeable future).

also, the long term supply issue is truly worrisome considering the steady growth in global oil demand. it is easy to see that trouble and much higher prices loom, unless a recession curtails demand, or vastly higher prices do.

in the meantime, the shrimps bull market ends in a blow-off:
