OT: Andy,

JC's whole point on this thread is to irritate. He's very good at it. It seems to be most irritating to developers who know he doesn't know what he talking about. If you push him into a corner he resorts to personal attacks. That’s his MO. If you call him out (catch him in a mistake) he puts you on ignore. Join the club.;-)

If bias were a physical anomaly like a pimple, they'd put him in a jar of formaldehyde when he passes away and place it next to the huge jar with the elephantiasis leg at the Medical Museum on the DC Mall.

Sorry... the Museum is no longer open to the public but I do remember, as a kid sneaking out from under the Nuns watch on the annual Smithsonian field trip to check it out. I remember the huge leg in a glass jar and not finding John Dillenger’s thing, but there was a great section on brain wounds from the First World War.

Tom

No Andy. I wasn't readimg this, but I did click onto your post that Tom was replying to. --- Look, I have no doubt that you can write a multi-page Perl script in Win32 Perl that plays on Unix (as long as you dont use Unix services/fuctionality and basic stuff like forking. --- They are though for all intents and purposes platform specific. Surely you can write some entirely HTML type script that works cross platform. That doesn't describe the bulk of scripts being created and archived on CPAN. --- For that, in lieu of doing your own research, chose to say I was a liar and "b-sing again". Perhaps you can dig deep as to why I might take offense to that. If you can get there, you'll understand why I launched into a simiar as-hominem retort. --- I have Perl Cookbook someplace around here. I'll try huting it down. If I find it's 'platform agnostic' I'll owe you an apology. --- You though, with a little research can learn that the things I was saying about Activestate Win32 Perl are true. --- Maybe apologies are in order all the way around (both standard apologies and Win32 apologies). <g> -JCJ
