<<They are mostly bonafide idiots.>> I used to think the Economist was a pretty solid source of news and commentary. But after first admitting they have never heard of JDSU and SDLI they go on to make a pronouncement that there will be a glut in bandwidth. I now recall that it was the Economist that had a cover story two years ago about the Oil Glut and inside they predicted under $10 a barrel oil well into the future. The future, in that case, lasted about three months. Perhaps they should stick to political commentary. Despite the name, economics doesn't seem to be their forte.
