His comments fit perfectly with his style. PMCS is just about the best run company of any I know and the management is low key, reserved and confident. and I'm sure he does know what's going on, but if he made a comment to that effect, he could be sued for making projections.

His observations about after hours trading in insignificant volumes was dead on, 15,000 shares of volume in 100 share lots is irrelevant, the verdict will come tomorrow, and over time.

Dear DownSouth,

I'm sure he does know... but, being overly aggressive with public comments about future results is not PMC-Sierra's style, as TraderDave states. The comments on this conference call about the coming quarter's results matches what PMCS has given as guidance the previous few quarters. Since they don't guide that there will be 30% quarter over quarter growth, the analysts don't make their estimates for such growth. In doing this, PMCS has consistently beaten the consensus estimates. If PMCS suddenly changed this guidance, it would be something unexpected and the market generally punishes companies too aggressive in their guidance that then don't meet the analysts' expectations.

If you can't place your confidence in a long proven successful company like PMCS, I don't know who you can have confidence in.
