Because the apparent silliness that you allege exists only because you are (persistently!) not filtering out your own biases. X already nailed it -there are biologists studying attraction, not love. When you replace a scientifically tractable term with a morally loaded one for purposes of online courtroom-style theatrics, you disqualify yourself from worthy discussion. Think on it. Show me ONE brain researcher who is doing what you claim. Be sure the word "love" is prominent in the paper's abstract. Then I'll back down.
