I'm wonder if we will see a rise to 50+ sooner rather than later. Look at the Altera (ALTR)and Microchip (MCHP) charts, and their product lines. Atmel overlaps with both these companies in terms of product, and has flash memory as well, which is in high demand.

Everyone is saying now demand will pick up towards the end of the year, and there will be little or no new capacity yet. Gateway, Sony, and others are starting to produce Internet, handheld, and wireless applianced in volume--on top of the cell phone and network demand.

Bigger demand and limited supply, plus the holidays and back to school, means good times for the chip companies. Surely for the next two quarters if not longer.

Dear mike and all: This stock was 48 around mid june wasnt it? Things only sound better, for the life of me, I dont see why it shouldnt at least move up to that level quickly if the NAZ gets to 4500 as predicted and earnings and CC come through as expected. JDN
