"Audio playback will be added to future versions of Sony's Palm PDA."

Binx, Sony has too much copyrighted material to even consider supporting MP3. This will be the biggest problem with any device Sony produces. One other example is the "Memory Stick Walkman" which...

1) Can't use Memory Stick (unprotected)
2) Uses and obscure compression CODEC (ANTHRAX3)

Some how Sony thinks it can enter even a relatively mature market segment that Palm has dominated and somehow capture a significant share of the market. Well, look at their desktop PC and laptop sales. Sure, they sold some products, but it wasn't anything to write home about.

In the handheld PC market SanDisk has overwhelming support from multiple manufacturers and a viable solution for material that is copyrighted, SDMC.
