<<Just to clarify, BCE didn't sell its stake in Nortel. They spun it off to shareholders as a way to help increase shareholder value. I wouldn't call this a dumb move. It shows management is focused on providing value to its shareholders. It also helped diversify Nortel's ownership which makes it easier for Nortel to make deals.>>

You are correct they spun off shares. Management focus...sounds good and then they buy the balance of Teleglobe and pay to much for it...hmmmm. So what else can Bell do...buy CTV and pay a bundle for it. Focused perhaps not.

If management wanted to increase shareholder value they should have continued to spin off other companies they currently own. They have a history of buying companies they have no business in...trust companies, pipeline, real estate companies, printing and loosing a bundle. If they want to buy companies why not focus on the area they know best telecom?

Enough said perhaps we should take this to PM if you wish to continue.
