I kind of liked the Coke and liquor analogy for Microsoft. The only difference is that if Microsoft owned the recipe to Coke they would be able to use their knowledge of the architecture to make their liquor taste better than other liquor when mixed with Coke thus providing an opportunity to dominate the dark liquor market and then focus their crosshairs on the now vulnerable ice cube and lemon twist marketplaces.
