INFLATION CONTINUES BENIGN

The FCCPI (fully cored consumer price index) declined for the 97th month in a row. This adjusted index excludes such volatile sectors as energy, food, housing, health care, cars, computers, tobacco, clothing, pens, pencils, crayons, and all items beginning with the letters A through M. Meanwhile, the CPI was up sharply again.

Stocks surged higher on the news this morning.
