Someone big must be bailing. There are just too manu large blocks for it to be anything else.

My guess is Landis. Especially with how much he touted the stock a while ago.

mac,

Exactly my feeling. I did bring the subject up on the WIND TA thread yesterday.

Strange and very weak price movement this past week.

Mac,

I'll blame the convertible bonds for now. With 4.3M shares due to be issued when the bonds are called, bond holders might be selling short to hedge their portfolio. A lot of hedge funds engage in convertible bond arbitrage.

As for Landis potentially unwinding his position, I find that difficult to believe. Per the latest proxy dated 5/15, his funds owned over 6.6 million shares. Almost all of those have been purchased this year, so I doubt his shares have experienced much upside.

Some other comments from the proxy:

We've got another two years left of this 30K a month payment to Abelmann for "certain consulting services."
I got to belive most of that consulting is done poolside with a margarita.

Did anybody notice the verbage of "...subject to stock options exercisable within 60 days of May 15, 2000." Is this some kind of trading window? Might explain the timing of the CFO sales.

At least the equity portfolio had a nice week -- Liberate was up $9 Friday. Wind River owns 416,666 shares.

I won't be able to attend the annual meeting but would appreciate any reports from those able to attend.

Hopefully there's no elephant in the kitchen as you put it. As a little kid growing up in SC, I remember sitting with my friend watching his mother trying to convince a whitetail deer to exit her kitchen. It wasn't pretty!
