How funny of you to recommend AMD, whose business is built upon ripping off Intel's product, after the comments about Rambus being a parasite! Talk about double standards.

You always seem to forget to mention the key negative for AMD, Col. SANDERS is still at the Helm!

Scumbria,

The RMBS longs should consider an investment in AMD. AMD uses a somewhat different business model than Rambus.

1. They produce silicon.
2. Their product has superior performance at a lower price than the competition.

Maybe AMD should move to the RMBS business model. Then they might be up 514% year-to-date as well. <G>

Dave (happy with his Rambus investments [this year, at least])

Scumbria,

Another idea...

Microsoft just announced that they're going to move to a "rented software" business model.

Maybe AMD could borrow this strategy as well and move to a "rented hardware" model! Gateway and all the other companies could just pay AMD a monthly fee for the processors they put into their systems; likewise the PDA and cell phone manufacturers could pay a monthly fee for the flash memory they put into their devices!

And, of course, since this is a new concept AMD could patent it and charge for their IP. Thus, they'd be able to combine both Microsoft's and Rambus's business models.

Whadya think? <G>

Have a great weekend. Good luck with any soccer games.

Dave
