TTOSBT, the resistance to upward movement is negative for the stock price. The stock price seems to be falling every day interrupted by brief and powerful rallies. This is the stuff of bear markets (at least in Microsoft stock). The company is fighting the government (already a difficult task) and the software market dynamics change (even more difficult task). No company has ever done both successfully - not T, not IBM (Standard oil didn't have the latter problem). We shall see if Microsoft succeeds...

It just rallied from 78.75 to 79.125 quickly, but sellers took hold quickly enough for it to go back down to 78.75 :-(
