Cisco,
I could not agree more.

SI, I certainly hope you are listening.
All of Cisco's points are valid and deserve attention.

I would like to add one more thing to this.
I used to enjoy the most bookmarked lists. They disappeared. Has anyone noticed that the practice was taken up by Ravin Bull? Why did SI drop a good thing?

Cisco (love that name),
I agree with you completely about the coffee shop threads on the hot list. Sure, maybe a coffee shop thread that doesn't talk about stocks, trading or the market will show up on the hot list every now and again, but some of the most important threads are found in the coffee shop section. Obviously the Piffer OT thread is high on my list, but the bear threads such as Burke's and the Clown threads are also very important for getting a feeling for the sentiment on the other side of the market.

Not to mention the hot list has become virtually useless now that it lists subjects all the way down to -44%.

I would also like to see a Hot Subjects option that includes coffee house threads...
What made SI special in the past was the sense of community. The coffee house threads serve a very important part in creating the personality of that community. In essence it was the night life of the SI community.

I agree, I agree. Please bring the Coffee Shop threads back to the Hot List.

Excellent suggestions, and well said.

Perhaps Bob will pass them along to Bryan.

I've forwarded your suggestions.

How would people feel about the Coffee Shop threads being on a separate, but equally accessible list? Like with a link right next to the existing one?

Or do we all lean more toward having an option to turn on or off Coffee Shop inclusion in the Hot List?
