The whole smoking thing really disturbs me, and this from a person whose Mom was done in by cancer at age 60. She smoked 2-3 packs/day.
I mean, come on, there are labels on the packs, everyone knows they are bad, bad, for you.
I read an article somewhere about the most recent Florida judgment, it brought up the fact that plaintiff's counsel will take in some astronomical sum (I would assume in the billions of dollars) were the judgment to stand. I would also conjecture that, similar to judgments in securities class actions, the aggrieved class would receive extremely modest sums, due to the large legal fees, and the massive size of defendants in the class.
Personal responsibility - who needs it?!
