It's apparent that those high-margin 815 chipsets are making tons more money for Intel than those low-margin 700 MHz Xeons w/ 2M of on-die cache, not to mention those bargain-basement Coppermines.

The significance of the i815 introduction goes well beyond chipset sales. It has more to do with removing an albatross around Intel's neck.
