its amazing what analysts have written and their basis for some of these projections. good article in WSJ today about Bloggett, Meeker and the I-nut analysts......not what I would call complimentary, rather the journal focus more on the competitive pressures in the Investment banking industry and how rocketing issues like the Globe IPO of Oct 98 forced the bankers to loosen their standards. It also highlighted some shady practices of the bankers increasing the allocation to fund managers who "committed" to purchace additional shares in the aftermarket........SEC is/has been looking to this as it boarders on stock manipulation....of course nothing in writing, just loose talk amongst freinds.....wink wink.
I'll post the article when I get a chance to locate it.

C, here's a link to the WSJ article that I mentioned in my earlier post. I surprised at the frank approach by the authors (about time!), unfortunatly noone wanted to hear about this prior to March this year when everyone was making money.....however it doesn't go on forever, music stops and there aren't enough chairs.....now the truth of the game.
