I find the following post I made last month quite amusing myself. Coms touched $75 today but pullback a bit. It demonstrates the power of breakout analysis. At that time coms was $45 :

<I am puzzled as to why you are disgruntled. Please explain. > Hi JB. Please don't get me wrong. I'm happy with the return, that is assuming that come monday, coms does not fall off a cliff....again..<g>

Yeah, I've made some coin on paper, but the months in the wringer and the reasons that for it, were unpleasant.

Having paid 29 and change for coms, this 2 year chart shows that much of the time I was underwater. 30 represented strong resistance and at least 6 times, coms would touch 30 for about 20 nanoseconds and then nose dive right back into the mid to low 20's and bottom feed there for weeks or months before coming back to the surface again for a gulp of air. There's nothing quite like owning a stock that shows a 2% profit for 2 hours at a time,6 times in a year, and spends the rest of the time in the red. Any coms holder over this time period can probably relate to this "honey, where's my maalox" feeling.

The roller coaster ride has been mostly unpleasant, but it's the well publicized fundamental and circumstantial reasons for the charts' huge volatility and wild gyrations that were the source of that disgruntled feeling. But please don't ask me to go there again<G>.

Otoh, simply buying and holding one of coms esteemed competitors instead, would have yielded triple the net return with only market level volatility. ...but hindsight is 20/20

Mike
