Unless there are some technical problems or excessive costs involved I just don't see any reason not to go to a 400MHz bus with the next class of CPUs.

Running a 400MHz general purpose bus on a motherboard is rather tricky, and I'm not sure I would want to try it. I know very little about the history of this bus, but I was rather surprised when I first heard mention of a 400MHz bus on Willy.
