FYI, in case anyone missed the upgrade...

A maintenance release for MetaStock 7.01 is available. MetaStock 7.02.

The maintenance release is only available on CD from Equis. Please contact Equis Sales at 1-800-882-3040 or email sales@equis.com

The following is a list of enhancements and bug fixes in MetaStock & The DownLoader 7.02.

Enhancements

MetaStock

When compressing data the number of periods loaded is now maintained and not the date range. When a Daily Chart is loaded with 100 periods of data and it is compressed to Weekly, 100 periods of Weekly data will be loaded. Previously the chart's date range would be preserved.
Explorations should now run much faster.
Added the option to use a Template's periodicity or the opened Chart's periodicity when applying a Template to Online securities. When applying a Template the Apply Template dialog now has the option: "Use Template's Periodicity." When checked any Template applied will use the periodicity of the Chart that the Template was created with. When this option is unchecked the Template will use the periodicity of the Chart it is applied to. This option is only available with Online securities.
A hotkey was added to allow users to access the Expert Commentary window without a mouse. Press ALT-C when the Commentary window is displayed.

Bug Fixes

The DownLoader

Adjusting First Date on certain dates caused the errors: "The new first date that you have specified is after the first date of the first data record for this security. To prevent discarding data, the first date will not be adjusted for this security." "DAL member not supported."
Some MetaStock securities would cause a crash when converting to Excel.
Copying information from a datasheet would sometimes cause the error: "Unable to open the clipboard."
Qcenter would sometimes freeze at the "Logging on to Reuters DataLink" message.
When a datasheet was opened pressing F1 would not bring up the correct Help Topic.
The Browse button would not open the Browse dialog in Tools|Application Options|File locations.
Commodities for the following Futures groups were not listed properly. CBT, CME, LIFFE, LCE.
The DownLoader was not remembering it's last display position in Dual-Monitor configurations.
Printing a date range without adjusting the dates would cause the "to:" range of dates to display zeros instead of the correct date.
No Hotkeys were assigned for Name/Symbol in the Find: All Securities dialog.
Cannot change Views in the Open dialog in Window 2000. These buttons were removed for Windows 2000 users and changing Views can be accessed through a right-click of the List control.
Pressing "Enter" in the Find dialog did not start a find.
Printing a datasheet would not print more than about 10 pages even if more data was selected.
Qcenter could crash collecting data from Signal.

MetaStock

Adding a price plot to a new Inner Window of a security whose price plot was Kagi could cause MetaStock to crash.
Using Insert|Object|MetaStock Chart in Microsoft Word or Excel would cause MetaStock to crash. This functionality was never intended and the Object type MetaStock Chart has been removed.
The Zoom Box was not zooming in on the selected area but was zooming in on a much larger area than was selected.
If a local security was opened and then compressed to a higher periodicity, the higher periodicity was not saved in the smart chart if the security was opened from the Open dialog. The security would open with its base periodicity. If opened from the File MRU it would retain the saved periodicity.
Various resource leaks were fixed that could cause low memory warnings.
Printing could cause MetaStock to crash with certain configurations.
You could not load more data in an online security by changing the First Date Loaded in X-axis Properties.
The File|Open dialog would crash randomly. The was especially true for Windows 2000 and NT users.
Opening a local security and then typing at the chart a new symbol or name would sometimes crash the program.
Templates were not using the saved periodicity but the base periodicity of the security they were applied to.
"Other" periodicity was not working for Daily data. The chart would remain as Daily regardless of the number of periods specified in "Other."
Upgrading to 7.02 with "Restore Workspace" would cause Next Security to not work in the folder that contained the securities of the saved workspace.
The down line of the Aroon indicator was not plotting.
Layouts created in 7.01 were not opening in 7.02.
Switching the display in the File|Open to Symbol or Name in Windows 2000 or NT could cause a crash.
In the Open dialog both "History" and "Symbol" were using the same hotkey. "y"
User created Futures symbols were not always deleted properly from the Open dialog.
The y-axis scale of a layout would not properly display changes of the securities display units. I.e., if display units were set to 32nds the layout would display the units in decimal.
All charts were not printing on some configurations when printing multiple charts per page.
Multiple *.sym would cause all symbols to display in each *.sym folder in the Open dialog.
Could not toggle back and forth between Name and Symbol in the Choose a Security dialog.
Securities would not sort by selected display type when changing display type in Choose a Security dialog.
Layouts would not asked to be saved when "Use Chart as Template" was selected and Next/Previous Security was used on the open Layout.
Compressing a Yearly chart to Other would not compress the chart to Other but to Monthly.
"Smoothing Method" was missing from the parameters of the indicator "Standard Error Bands."
Changing the Last Date Loaded in X-axis properties could cause all data to be loaded and not just the selected date range.
Opening an online security by typing the symbol followed by a semi-colon would return the error: "Vendor does not have any information available for this symbol." And then, "Security Data Unavailable" and no data would display.
A local security added to Favorites and then moved to a different folder could cause MetaStock to crash when cycling through Favorites using Next Security.
Local securities would not retain their compressed periodicity when cycling through charts with Next/Previous Security and Use Smart Charts.
Opening two or more charts at a time would prompt the user to save changes even if no changes were made to the charts.
The size of the Edit Layout dialog was increased to accommodate longer path names.
The option to Edit Properties of *.sym file securities was available in the Open dialog even though it was not possible to edit their properties this way. This option was removed.
Some users would receive the error: "error connecting to equis.com Unknown error 5" when attempting to update the symbol database file.
Adding multiple Vertical Lines to a chart with multiple inner windows and then choosing Edit|Delete All could crash MetaStock.
Vertical Lines were not displaying at their anchor date when compressing Daily charts to a higher periodicity (Weekly, Monthly, etc.)
Adding a new futures symbol to the group CME would add the symbol to the CBT group instead.
Changing the Last Date Loaded and click Apply in the X-Axis Properties would cause the Last Date Displayed value to remain at current value and not update to the value entered into the Last Date Loaded date control.
In the Price Plot's Inner Window there was a comma missing between the Close and Change.
Fixed problem importing some formula tools that would cause BAD OP CODE errors.
