It's a tough and often illogical market. When a good stock hits bottom and is unfairly punished the shorts jump in. When a high-flier hits the stratosphere the bulls go crazy. Just the opposite should be true. Investors should be shorting the tops and buying the bottoms. Fortunately everything correct sooner or later. I believe the real fortunes can be made buying at bottoms and selling at tops (obviously). But it takes patience, guts and contrarian attitudes. Unfortunately the stock market is sometimes more of a popularity contest than an analysis of true values. Following the herd. Shorting into a rally is tough too for you bears. Makes for nasty tempers. Just like buying into steep downdrafts which I do a lot. We're just two sides of the same coin.
