Red & Abstract: re 'split tail.'

Red -- you're the perfect one to verify at least to some extent the 'origin' of Voltaire's term, 'split tail.'

Here's a link to UK slang in which the terms, 'split arse' and 'split beaver' appear.

peevish.co.uk

Scroll down thru the 'esses' to find the above terms.

NOW: In addition, I have strictly anecdotal information that the term, 'split tail' used to derogatorily describe women in the United States is circa World War II GI 'jargon.'

Any old WWII vets read this board? To confirm or deny?

Tom didn't seem to know the origin when I questioned <g> him about it at the Porch Party.

Tom -- have you done any 'research' on this lately that we should all know about? To quench our inexhaustible thirsts for knowledge?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
