I do think webmethods is the b2bi app that the herd wants - I think their mktg is exceptional and they have created a perception that webm needs to be on both sides of the chain in order to ensure these transactions get through.

I think this is the key to where we differ. WEBM may or may not have a bangup kit for creating these adapters, but given an open DTD standard, there is nothing about whose kit was used on one end that has any impact on what kit is used on the other end. Without that, it would be like expecting that X12 transmissions would only work Gentran to Gentran or whatever. It just isn't that hard for anyone to build an adapter -- any many will build their own in order to use in-house technology -- or that hard for other people to build competing kits. I.e., like the man said, no lock.

Lizzie, welcome to the thread, and thanks for bringing in a stock to consider.

However (you knew that was coming), you (nor Thomas) have not presented the companies in terms of Gorillas and Kings as defined by G. Moore in TFM (The Gorilla Game). Have y'all read "the manual"? I suspect not, judging from your language, your favorite stocks and your "investment style". (You may wish to reconsider that question in your profile, LT).

Please do and do some serious thinking about how your candidate fits the Gorilla or King (or Monkey or Chimp or Prince) criteria. In the meantime, I hope you will stick around. There is lots to learn here, and I'll bet we will be learning some things from you very soon.

BTW, the stock price after lockup will demonstrate nothing to us in terms of G/K.

Galahad

Lizzie,

I am cooling to I2 a little because I think their proprietary architecture is in jeopardy.

Would you mind expanding on that? You really piqued my interest with that comment.
