>> I typically keep a towel like this around my neck in between shots.

I'd recommend you keep it on during shots, and wrap it tightly.

Then you'll have an excuse for choking.

I was drinking a lot including taking some salt tablets. But I think by the time it hit me it was too late.I also drink this drink called LIPOVITAN which is some Japanese energy drink.I think playing 27 holes was just too much for my system. We had a party at my house the night before and I got to bed at 4.00 a.m. and went and played on a couple of cups of coffee.

I guess the lesson from this is as you said be prepared.I think I will stick to playing 9 holes in the afternoons for the time being until we get cooler weather.

Drink water constantly. This will keep you from dehydrating and prevent something I wouldn't wish on anyone, kidney stones. It only took me 6 incidents of kidney stones to learn this one.

Yep, Sham, try a water bottle. Your body is mostly water, so keeping it rehydrated makes lots of sense.

I had 1 kidney stone; now I drink water more liberally and haven't had a second in the past 3 years since. The pain was so vivid, that I expect I will never fail to drink enough water. I'll let our more severe curmudgeons comment on the fact Sandy endured 6 kidney stones before "he got it"!
