Bryston:

Where did you hear that fixed sites would be distributed in February?

As I recall, in a conference call that I think took place around February, BLS, in his typical double-talk, vaguely discussed fixed phone installations (I bet the phrase "everything is on plan" was used) and asked Zahler for confirmation. Zahler--in non-BLS style--referred to fixed site installs that would occur in China in 3Q00 and BLS promptly cut him off (heaven forbid we get an idea of "the plan" that we are "on").

That's the only concrete reference to fixed site installs I've ever heard Zahler make, besides perhaps with respect to the latest Satmex deal (which didn't specify how many fixed sites there would be; classic G*).

On a related note, am I the only one who picks up on a non-cohesive management team? I like to see a management team that knows what the other is thinking; with LOR/G*, it seems that no one "connects" with BLS, i.e., knows what he wants to hear in conference calls, which supports the rumors that I've heard regarding a BLS dictatorship .

P.S. - Thanks for your reports from China. Imo, if G* is to succeed, G* needs to be very successful in China, particularly with fixed sites. So far, no news is bad news, imo.
