Tmann, you are right about Nov. If things are not becoming clear by then, its Wheaties. Here are couple of anecdotal items to add to your list:
12. G* gets GSA equivalent approval in Canada in August. I was told by a Canadian distributor to expect 25% - 40% increase in phone sales in Canada once that is in place.
13. So Africa should be on line by late 3rd or early 4th qtr.
14. Here is IR's answer to my aviation question "Regarding the aviation kit -- development is in progress according to Tony with whom I checked yesterday. And, remember the IFN deal. Also, I've used the G* phone in flight on our corporate plane. Held a 15 minute conversation and terminated it myself. Norsat likely will not be the only provider. Don't know how long it will take to get FAA
approval for this application."
15. Expect GUSA to announce a couple of big clients one of which will allow them to use their name in a press release. One I know would not allow it. (I am still trying to be upstaged.)

I have resigned myself to accept that there maybe only 10k or so phones sold as of 2 or 3 wks ago. What I am more interested in is the trend. Is it really increasing exponentially? That is what I am being told. We will see.

As you pointed out, more gateways are opening. The sp's are under no obligation to continue doing that...but they are. There must be a reason. So far no sp has abandoned ship nor has any high up i.e. cfo, ceo, vp, etc. Iridium folks were jumping ship in droves by now.

Iridium is reported to have had 50k subscribers. That means there were several thousand idiots out there wanting sat telephones and willing to shell out 3k per phone (or a little less when they went on sale) and pay a bunch per minute. Have they all switched to G*? Not yet and I don't blame them. First, some can still use the system for free. I know that was the case in Canada just 5 weeks ago. Others are certainly saying once burned, shame on you, twice burned, shame on me so they need proof that G* will stay around. I believe the financing rumors involving ptr participation and a new ptr to be true. When that is announced, there will be increased sales especially if that is coupled with an Iridium deorbit. How would we all feel if G* had 50k subscribers? Pretty damn good!

Roaming has been a hot topic or more appropriately, lack of roaming. So what is the problem? Roaming affects the global traveler. Wasn't that Iridium's target market? Roaming does not affect those in-country who have no service and could care less about roaming - G*'s target market. Getting the roaming agreements and even some gw licensing (So. Africa) has truly has been slower than anyone has expected. We are dealing with red tape, graft, corruption and simply lack of interest in many cases. I know that to be fact in Mexico and France as per a G*USA engineer. It will happen but what is more important is that those in-country can now have phone service.

Some long-term Lor shareholders have sold out including Jim Black. Sorry to see you go Jim. Several of those never thought Lor should have supported G* this long. For me, if the potential is what I believe it to be then find me a better investment.

I have told folks that BS is either dillusional, dishonest or a visionary. My ex-broker and current friend thinks I am dillusional for sticking with this. I suspect there are others who have read my posts who would readily agree with him. I have done my fair share of dd and am sticking the course. How often has the street been right when crawling the wall of worry? Not very often. Could I have made more elsewhere these last 4 years. Hell yes but my research, time and energy has been spent here. This is what I know so I will stay here.

So, what about BS? Which is he? A freind of mine attended the shareholder meeting and sat next to a 75+ year old gentlemen of modest means who invested with Bernie in the old Loral in the early 70's. He would call him a visionary. I know several folks who I respect feel he has been dishonest. I just don't agree, not yet anyway.

G* is an elegant, unique, low cost, fluid system. I think the only question is will voice or data be the ultimate driving force. IMHO. Just a little weekend musing.
