If you're looking for stocks that appear to have good momentum, you might want to revisit my web site. I now have statistics, analysis, and ratings for the 1500 S&P stocks (LargeCap 500, MidCap 400, SmallCap 600). The ratings are based on the price/volume discussion I wrote about here some months ago (when Sun's price was rising, but its volume was decreasing). The best rating goes to those stocks that have a stable rising trend on increasing volume, which suggests growing interest in the stock.

This week's analysis rates SUNW as a Hold. Among similar stocks that people here follow, IBM and Microsoft are rated Bearish; Hewlett-Packard, Dell, and Oracle are rated Hold; and Compaq and EMC are rated "Bullish". The "Very Bullish" list includes 3COM, Nextel, Tektronix, Viacom, and about 40 others (many of which I know little about -- but I will soon be investigating these).

BEA Systems isn't analyzed because they're not on any of the S&P lists. I'll probably add a fourth list of stocks, though, that includes any stock anyone requests that's not on one of the current lists.
