as far as I know the XAU itself is only tradeable as a fund. I guess what you are asking is if there is a "holders" type investment vehicle on gold stocks. I don't know the answer.

In my opinion, gold is a lousy investment. I think you are better off figuring out a shorting strategy if you are concerned about a market meltdown and consider gold a hedge vs. such an investment climate.

Joseph, XAU can only be traded on a closing basis - not morning or closing prices.

It is the Dynamic Series only that allows this right now - to the best of my knowledge.
