Don't forget that the owners of the utility poles charge any and all producers for use/maintainance in effect creating yet another layer of ownership entitled to a profit. I live in MA, where New England Elec. was the first utility to go through this action. A company called the Grid, from England, now is my elec. generator. The orig. company still owns the poles, etc., as another corporation. Our rates have actually gone down initially, BTW.
