Sponsoring a loser - no, make that a non-qualifier - is NOT good PR, no matter what color glasses you wear. It is risky to sponsor a single driver, as they have found out the hard way. Sponsors avoid the full impact of this kind of negative publicity by sponsoring multiple drivers, and if one fails to qualify, they still get good PR. Apparently, EDIG isn't willing or able to play the game fully.

I can't imagine why they would choose NASCAR racing, given the demographics. Good if you are selling double-wides, though - maybe EDIG is branching-out. :)

If they wanted to reach executives with OEMs, they should sponsor a golf player.

If they want to reach the public - it's way too early - by the time products are out, that micro-something will be long forgotten.

This sponsorship is a perfect analogy for EDIG's player, though. So far (if this reported news is correct), neither one has made it to the pole.
