I had not been around AG thread for some time myself....until recently that is. You asked: is alan markoff still over there? Yes And Emile? Yes Sidney you wrote:I have thought a lot about the great "falling away" as you have. I think that the great falling away could take place over several generations and not be a very sudden falling away, although that could happen also. In recent times the whole world has "fallen away" when you think about it. The last hundred years has seen a tremendous erosion of faith in God. Even whole political systems in the last hundred years have been based on atheism. The last days and the great falling away could be slow moving and harder to see, not being a sudden thing. But to God, who says a thousand years is as a day to Him and a day as a thousand years......what I'm saying is not inconceivable. It certainly isn't conceivable at all my friend, However the verbs falling and away as used in 2Thes 2:3 is of much greater significance then anywhere else in the Bible. Strong's # for falling is 646, 646 apostasia (ap-os-tas-ee'-ah); feminine of the same as 647; defection from truth (properly, the state) ["apostasy"]: KJV-- falling away, forsake. Strongs's # for Away is also 646 apostasia (ap-os-tas-ee'-ah); feminine of the same as 647; defection from truth (properly, the state) ["apostasy"]: KJV-- falling away, forsake. And within that same sentence, the greek makes it abundantly clear that falling away and son of perdition are structurally related. Strong's # for perdition is 684 684 apoleia (ap-o'-li-a); from a presumed derivative of 622; ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal): KJV-- damnable (-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious ways, waste. Apoleia is another name for God's fierest enemy, satan! Strongs # 623 623 Apolluon (ap-ol-loo'-ohn); active participle of 622; destroyer (i.e. Satan): KJV-- Apollyon. Sidney, that son of perdition has not yet been revealed yet here on earth. But when he comes disguised as Christ ...(2 Thess. 2:4, Also 2 Cor. 11:14, The word Transformed, #3345 Strongs = disguised.)... sitting in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God...( This is what will cause the great falling away)...then to all of those who know and understand the order of things to come...he will be revealed!! You also wrote:There will be a falling away from the church at the very end when God finally separates the wheat from the chaff. Chaff looks like wheat but is not. That scripture is talking about the church, not the world in general. There has to be a separation of God's chosen people from the church goers who don't know Him and are not His, but they look like they are. They are the chaff, that will be separated. That might look like a falling away, but that's just the final threshing. Sidney I will have to get back to this later, .....I am being beckoned to another important issue. Please forgive me. Have a blessed day my friend Shalom...><>
