Well, E, what I said to her was all very civil and would look very bland in writing. I merely told her that I wasn't allowed to back up, and that if she had a problem with it she should take it up with my supervisor. She had been waiting for me to come out of the building, and basically I was responding to a stream of complaints from her regarding my excellent character. I wouldn't have stopped to speak to her otherwise. What got everyone's attention was my tone of voice, and I may have looked slightly angry, but what I said wasn't especially memorable.
