In a note today, Ashok Kumar basically stated that DELL's hopes in storage are dead. Note that Kumar has DELL at a 'Strong Buy'. ºWe belive that ConvergeNet acquisition is a total debacle. ºWe expect the Company will retrench to be a reseller of third-party solutions. Dell cannonballed into the storage pool last summer when it acquired CovergeNet for $380 million. But there was a small problem--the pool was empty. Now a year later, Dell is finding it has nothing to show for this effort. There's more, none of it complimentary.
