It you think manufacturing 800MHZ RDRAM is difficult just think how difficult it is to manufacture 1.4 GHZ Athlons.
How many times has AMD failed to meet its manufacturing objectives?

Scumbria,

Thanks for your suggested diversion. I feel I have reliable information on the manufacturing cost and channel prices for PC800.

It is the PC133-222 parts that I am having difficulty with.

Greg

Toshiba to release 3 next-generation DRAMs

MONDAY, JULY 17, 2000 3:38:00 AM EST
TOKYO, July 17 (Kyodo) -- Toshiba Corp. announced Monday it will launch production of a series of new high-speed 256-megabit dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips later this year to meet demand for increased memory capacity.

The new DRAMs, which include double data rare synchronous DRAMs, double data rate fast cycle RAMs and direct rambus DRAMs, are for use in high-speed operations in image-processing and network applications, the company said.

Toshiba said samples of the products are already available, but that large-scale production will begin in the October-December quarter of 2000.

Toshiba jointly developed the double data rate fast cycle RAMs with Fujitsu Ltd., while it developed the direct rambus DRAMs based on a license from Rambus Inc. of the United States.
