Maverick,

1. We forecast that the microprocessor division,
which will comprise 54% of total revenues or $619
million,

2. continued strong performance of the K6-2 products

3. We expect AMD to top our 1.8 million units K7
estimate for the quarter

How do you reconcile these 3 statements? The only way to reconcile these is if the ASP of Athlon tanked to $170 from about $238 in Q1, and the number of Athlon shipped is 1,800,001. Otherwise, the guy (Osha?) can't add.

Here is what you would need to get the $619 million number:

1.8 mil Athlons at $170 = $306 mil
4.5 mil K6-2/3+ at $53 = $238 mil
Embedded = $ 75 mil
----------------------------------
Total = $619 mil

The more realistic scenario (still very conservative)

1.85 mil Athlons at $235 = 434
4.50 mil K6-2/3+ at $53 = $238 mil
Embedded = $ 75 mil
-----------------------------------
Total = $748 mil

The difference is $130 million or $0.74 per share.

Joe

True to form, you continue to post news that is AT LEAST ONE WEEK old.

Can't you lift any faster that rock you are living under?
