Gene exactly the same could be said for Rambus, just about word for word!

There are strong similarities. However, QUALCOMM is already a company which produces in excess of 1 billion in profits.

QCOM...

>I got tired of defending qcom. There are too many complete fools on the other side of the argument.<

I know what you mean! When you've researched a stock, and really understand that stock....then it is frustrating trying to explain the positive aspects of the stock to someone who hasn't taken the time to research the factors that go into making up the stock's value.

I can think of a few other stocks that are difficult to understand, and IMO ones that will be very valuable...but the value is not reflected in their price.

For someone who doesn't own QCOM, this might be a great time to start a position in this company. At the end of the year we'll probably look back on these prices, and wonder why we didn't buy more shares at this level!

<<<When earnings accelerate to 10 bucks per share in 8 years, the stock will be at 500-1000. That's good enough for me.

so, um, somebody will take the shares OFF your hands at a pe level of 50 - 100 ?

There are too many complete fools on the other side of the argument

Funny I usually have the opposite problem. I'm the one saying the landscape is changing and its amazing the people dig in their heels and refuse to acknowledge any different paradigm than the status quo. A few years ago on the Sap thread was really the funnyest incident I ever had on SI. Ibexx who had a reputation as a decent trader resorted to calling me a pig because I (correctly) was predicting a major decline in Sap and all the enterprise players. It was sad, really.

I think theres a lot of pro-qcom guys on the Gorilla and Kings thread. They aren't interested in speculating about the future or shifting market conditions though, thats the problem.
