Notwithstanding the pointless history lesson, you keep incorrectly pinning the desire for a stronger federal government on "federalists." This is a mistake. Federalists want weaker federal power -- a "federated" (i.e. divided) set of government powers. Calling any mainstream Demo or Repub politician a "federalist" is a virtual non sequitir. They all want stronger federal power (as you correctly alluded to). They are most assuredly NOT federalists.
