Good point, Benjamin. I wonder what royalty the software would command if QCOM decided to market it? Could easily double the royalty stream. Then the ASICS become a true commodity sooner, as they inevitably will anyway, and QCOM captures the software royalty stream rather than letting it erode to competitive software over the years.

Didn't someone say that QCOM was INTC and MSFT all rolled into one? Does MSFT manufacture motherboards? Why should QCOM?
