Kaka,
Hi!!

RE: In a note today, Ashok Kumar basically stated that DELL's hopes in storage are dead. Note that Kumar has DELL at a 'Strong Buy'.
ºWe belive that ConvergeNet acquisition is a total debacle.
ºWe expect the Company will retrench to be a reseller of third-party solutions.

Dell cannonballed into the storage pool last summer when it acquired CovergeNet for $380 million. But there was a small problem--the pool was empty. Now a year later, Dell is finding it has nothing to show for this effort.

You probably know by now that this question has been addressed by the management at the shareholders..Our group had this question answered on Wednesday while we had the tour of the Parmer Facility...And, if you were at the shareholders you could have had it explained by a DELL rep right in front of the actual display that had CONVERGENET hooked up to their racks of servers...
Jan Stembol was particularly impressed with Jim Vanderslice who actually grabbed for the microphone when this question was asked at the meeting...Jim assured us all that "it was well worth waiting for and patience should be remembered"..."my 20plus years at IBM where I was in charge of storage has taught me to be patient when you have a product of this status"...Michael Dell then chimed in and said: "SHORTLY WE WILL HAVE A NEW ARRAY OF STORAGE PRODUCTS"...
Hey, Richard Chu of Cowen had his "hands held on a tour of the facilities by DELL execs...He upgraded DELL to a strong buy right after he left Austin...Which was a few days before our arrival...Ashok hasn't visited Round Rock yet...
:o)

Best, kemble
