Not many farmers left to rebel. Just lost my crops to flood, but crop insurance will help to replace the lost income. Government price support and insurance are necessary to keep the peasantry sullen but not mutinous. Research, pesticieds, fertilizer and farm credit have created such excess capacity that we have had to liquidate the kulaks. Just a few of them left. They'll soon be gone. Laser-guided machinery will sweep over the empty farm lands planting and harvesting genetically modified food and fiber. The curfew tolls the knell of parting day.

<<How low do prices have to get before we have an agrarian revolt? >>

About another year at these levels and you'll start seeing some foreclosure sales. That's what stirred the posse up last time.
