Scumbria,

To make this perfectly clear:

Event: AMD hitting $120 by close on friday.

minnow68's (me) probabilities imply one chance in 65.

Wang Wei's probabilities imply one chance in four.

Mike

<< we have a 25% chance of seeing $120 by the end of the week

Usually, the stock tanks after earnings. >>

Trends usually don't last too long after they are recognizeable. Also consider this:

Q3 after earnings price about 17
Q4 after earnings price about 35
Q1 after earnings price about 75?

In each case we were still roughly double the previous quarter price, to make that same comparison, we'd have to be up to about 150 at july, which certainly doesn't seem to likely. I don't think we've got nearly as much ground to give back after blow out results as we've had in the past.

re:Usually, the stock tanks after earnings
and you are saying that there are no more short term opportunities on amd. Shorting amd should yield nicely in few days, don't you think?
