OT...KG4, taking care of dad is a fulltime job, leaves me no time for anything else. Once every 10 days or so I get my uncle(not really family, late aunt's husband) to stay with my dad for a half hr while I shop for groceries. I have no social life, dad doesn't qualify for any outside assistance like Medicaid because his social security plus pension totals about $1,400 a month, which while it may seem like enough to get by on, just barely makes it when you factor in the spendings on Depends, medicine, etc. I think you're right, I am a gentle man for the most part, but I suppose when you're under the stress I'm under, you snap sometimes and lose control. That's probably why I went on a rampage in that other board. Of course lawyers don't want to hear any kinds of excuses...the $10,000 I settled for and the $2,500 attorney fee wiped out the last of my life savings...so when the time comes that my dad dies, whether it be now, or as everyone knows with Alzheimer's it could be much much later(Ronald Reagan is still alive and he's almost 90, dad's just 74), I will have to run out and get a job doing anything I can find, and I doubt anyone will be willing to hire someone who's been out of the work foce for over 10 yrs now because he was taking care of his father...Unless I apply for a job as a male nurse, and thanks but I think I've cleaned enough butt in one lifetime <g>...Anyway there's my story in a nutshell(and I use the term loosely).
