Telecommunications Technology Corporation (OTC BB:ATTP) announced
today that it has begun marketing Nextel (NASDAQ:NXTL) Worldwide (SM)
service, which provides customers with one phone and one number for
worldwide telephone service. Nextel Worldwide is the first and only
dual mode iDEN (R)/GSM 100% digital wireless service in the United
States. Nextel operates in over 65 countries, including 18 of the
world's top 25 largest cities.
With the introduction of Nextel Worldwide, customers can now make
and receive wireless calls throughout Africa, Australia, Europe, the
Middle East, and North and South America on an all-digital wireless
network. In Asia and Europe, Nextel Worldwide's digital GSM coverage
delivers streamlined access. In North and South America, Nextel iDEN
network delivers coverage in major cities in Argentina, Brazil,
Canada, Mexico and Peru as well as 96 of the largest 100 markets in
the United States.
Steven H. Bethke, president of Affordable Telecommunications,
stated, "Nextel Worldwide is the first plan to offer callers a
simplified flat rate per minute pricing based upon the country from
which they are calling. We are pleased to offer this cutting-edge
service to our customers and expect to draw significant revenue gains
from this product addition." Affordable Telecommunications will market
Nextel Worldwide through its 11 retail stores.
Nextel Worldwide rates range from US$0.99 per minute for most of
Europe to US$1.99 per minute for Asia, South America and the Middle
East, and from US$2.99 to US$4.99 per minute for select countries in
Africa, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. For this service, customers
will pay US$5.00 per month, in addition to a Nextel domestic service
plan.
