You wrote....

"...Police have a tough job, and all too often they go too far. But when they catch a murderer, they are doing their job...."

But when they beat the shit out of an alleged murderer
later found to be innocent, the cops have violated
the laws they were entrusted to serve.

But when they beat the shit out of an alleged murderer
later to be found guilty, the cops have also violated
the laws they were entrusted to enforce.

Cops are trained to use sufficient force to subdue
an alleged criminal. Any one with martial arts training,
such as myself, knows it doesn't take 10 to 15 cops
kicking a man already shot 4 times like in Philadelphia.

Cops are NOT the judges and juries despite what
you see glorified on television. Moreover, every
person of color isn't another Willie Horton stereotype.

Suggest you start by reading the Constitution
of the country you're living w. some analysis
as to why these amendments were written to protect
all of us.

Start with The Fourth Amendment

access.gpo.gov

then the Eighth Amendment

access.gpo.gov

and also The Sixth Amendment

access.gpo.gov

IF the person is the murderer. I remember some years ago 17 squad cars responded to a call of a man wielding a pen knife at the Del Amo Mall in Torrance, California. When the man refused to drop the pen knife the officers shot him more than 30 times. Of course he died.

Later the police said they were "in fear for their lives." Yeah, right...
